About Love And Puppy Paws Dog Rescue

Love And Puppy Paws Dog Rescue (LAPP Dog Rescue) is a 100% foster-based, 100% volunteer ran rescue that was formed to help alleviate the stress of city and county animal control facilities around South and Central Texas. We accept dogs into our rescue that are in overpopulated animal control facilities and are at risk of euthanasia due to space restraints, behavioral issues, and/or medical issues. Our main focus is to assist with dogs in rural animal control facilities that do not have resources that larger animal control facilities have to network dogs in their facility, provide vet care, or have a larger population of potential adopters. Any dogs brought into LAPP Dog Rescue’s care will be placed in foster homes, receive veterinary care, receive training for behavioral issues if needed, and gain socialization skills before they are adopted into their forever homes.

LAPP Dog Rescue does not adopt locally in Texas, except in Austin, as we do not want to compete with local animal control facilities or animal shelters that are overflowing with adoptable dogs. If you are in Texas and want to adopt a dog in need of a forever home, we recommend checking out animal control facilities, humane societies, and local shelters in your city and surrounding areas.

LAPP Dog Rescue does not discriminate against dogs based on their breeds, age, or disabilities. In fact, the founder and president of LAPP Dog Rescue, Katelyn Reckaway, has owned, adopted and fostered breeds like pit bulls, rottweilers, chihuahuas, poodles, and many others ranging in puppy to senior ages and even some with disabilities over the years. LAPP Dog Rescue loves dogs of all shapes and sizes, and from all different walks of life.

With fosters, volunteers and help from the community, we assist and specialize in providing dogs with a safe place to be and prepare them for a future filled with love in their forever homes. You can help us make a difference in a dog's life by adopting, fostering, advocating or donating.

Currently Love And Puppy Paws Dog Rescue has foster homes in Austin, Texas and surrounding areas. We take in street dogs and shelter dogs from Corpus Christi through the Austin area. Our focus is to help small and rural animal control facilities that have to euthanize for space due to capacity issues. We can only take in street dogs and strays if the finder is willing to foster until vetting is completed and the dog is adopted as our focus is to save animals from high kill animal control facilities.

These tax-deductible donations will also help us feed, spay/neuter, vaccinate and care for the LAPP Dogs in our rescue so that we can prepare them to go to their forever homes.
